Gelişim College is proud to be holding its 8th annual Dubbing Fest on April 20th 2024.
As Gelişim English teachers, we believe that with this event the students’ knowledge of English and their creativity will be improved. It will not only enhance students’ speaking skills but also encourage them to improve their imagination.
The registration form will be on our web site on the 20th October.
All participants are expected to fill in the registration form by November 20th.
Only the first fifteen teams that complete the registration form in due time will be accepted.
This year we will ONLY be hosting 6TH GRADERS .

EVENT RULES
Who can apply?
- Participants must be 6th grade students.
-Gelişim students are not going to take part in the competition.
1. Participants must sign up in teams of 4 students. Each team member needs to be from the same grade.
2. There are two rounds and in each, the participants are expected to dub a movie clip. The first round will be a pre-prepared movie strip. It will be dubbed by the students with their own scripts live on stage. There won’t be any eliminations after the first round. Each group must choose a movie or animation clip lasting one and a half minutes(1,5 minutes) for dubbing.The videos must be sent in silent mode. Five points will be deducted from the total score for performances that are less or more than 1,5 minutes. Using original scripts of the movies will not be accepted.NO NATIVE STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO JOIN THE COMPETITION.Furthermore no videos or scripts including racist,sexist or slang words are accepted.Those who use such words in any part of the script of the visual shall be disqualified.
3. The second round will be from a movie strip chosen by the judges. In the second part of the event, the participants will be presented with a new movie strip, which they have not seen before. The movie will be watched on mute and the participants will be given 50 minutes to prepare their own script.
6. Participants may bring their own instruments or props to create sound effects and play their original background music. The background music of the clip must be embedded in the movie.
7. After the first and second rounds, groups will be rewarded on their combined points total. First round of the event will be covering 40% the second round will be covering 60% of the over all point given by the judges.
8. The best three teams will be awarded in the closing ceremony.
Please note:
· Make sure that all personal information on the application form is correct.
· The participants are responsible for attaching their clips via the given link in the registration form that will be released on 29th October .Additionally enclosed you may find the KVKK form to be downloaded and signed. On the day of the event all documents required must be submitted to the organizers of the event.
· The participants should check-in at least 30 minutes before the event starts.
Lunch won’t be served on the day of the event instead there will be stands where visiting students may buy food or beverages.
The event is free of charge and open to all schools .
How do we decide the winners?
Evaluation :
The first session evaluation will be scored out of 50 points and the second session evaluation will be scored out of 50 points according to the use of English, flow of the script, sound effects, creativity and synchronicity.
