EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

As Gelişim College we have set out with the motto ‘Education exists for the happiness of people’. In the route that we follow to prepare today’s youth for the future, we aim that our children will:

·        have sensibility for the community

·        have acquired the necessary qualities for an efficient and a happy life

·        be able to make a statement in the community with their individual differences

·        be able to use their skills and abilities as a plus value in their lives

·        be respectful to national and international values

·        have an aim

·        be productive, successful, decisive

·        have an impact in the world of the future

·        be individuals who have acquired the skills to use their constructivism not only for their own beings but also for the community and the world they live in.

As educators, in order to achieve our aim we will be successful in three steps:

Firstly, guiding our students to explore their interests and skills and make the right choices to direct them into the most suitable occupational areas for their personal qualities: secondly, making sure they have the necessary academic grounds for this pursuit: and thirdly to be able to raise individuals who can say ‘As a job owner: how happy I am that tomorrow I will work again.’

The educational foundations in our school has been built on the cooperation of all departments, positive relationships between individuals and developing our students’ sense of responsibility by providing common coherence with the limitations of tolerance on school rules and discipline.

In Gelişim Highschool, carrying our students to an advanced level of English is one of our priorities.

The students who will start year 9 take an English Placement Exam and are put in level classes to follow to foreign language education program.  The students who graduate from Gelişim High school, if they desire, have the opportunity to continue their education abroad. In order to achieve this aim our students are given a special foreign language education that is need to get an IELTS certificate which is required to study abroad.

Also the students who participate and earn a certificate at the Cambridge University FCE exams have the right to skip the Preparatory Year in national universities and straight away start their first year.

In addition to be able to study in domestic universities preparations for the University Entrance Exam are done systematically in all levels.

One of the foundations of education is to educate students who can use their own potentials up to its best and reinforce thinking skills. For this reason we implement active learning methods and actualize whole learning model. To be able to comment brings success in selective exam system. The reliability and validity of questions that are chosenby our testing and evaluation department from an extensive question bank are supported by scientific methods. With visual and audial supporting data we increase the effectiveness of education.

In our school we implement MEB Graduation and Examination Regulations together with academic programs that aim to develop our students interests and skills and improve knowledge. Also our students can take part in academic support activities which are done in two categories:

1.     AGEÇ (Academic Development and Education Operations)

This program is a free alternative workshop for our successful students who would like to carry their academic levels to a much higher level.

2.     ABAÇ ( Operations to Increase Academic Success)

These are free workshops for 9., 10., 11. and 12. Grade students who need to improve their academic knowledge and prepare for the exams.

Parallel to the academic studies: Our students prepare international projects with their peers under the scope of COMENIUS 1 (Middle Schools) within the frame of EU General Education SOCRATES Program and in the meanwhile they improve their foreign languages and internalize their own cultures, learn how to respect other cultures and see that it is like to an EU citizen through real life experience.

Lastly we do not see past our students personality developments while we aim for them to achieve the highest they can in their academic studies.
