Gelişim Koleji was founded in 1996 with a strong teaching staff by Serdar Öner who is a Child Development and Education Specialist. It is the continuation of the Gelisim Karsiyaka Nursery which was founded in 1987.
Between the years 1996-1998 the school was in a building in Karsiyaka, then it has moved to a campus which is built on 25 acres of land in Ulukent area. Gelişim Koleji with the investment of Gelişim Special Education Services and Consulting Inc. that is founded by Serdar Öner and Hakan Öner continues its investments day by day.
Gelişim Koleji has planned its structure starting from the kindergarten to the 12th grade and a process that takes students to university education. Gelişim Koleji started its first academic year gradually in 1996, in 2004-2005 academic year with the first primary school graduates, it has started high school education. Gelişim Koleji has formed a positive school climate with its modern classrooms, fully equipped labs, media center, sports complex, equestrian facilities, exhibition center, photo and music studios, green and natural environment.

Gelişim Koleji is an ideal education campus that is built on a 25 acres of land in Ulukent area which is on the way of Menemen, 8 km from Karsiyaka.
Today, every Gelişim student has a physical environment that they can maintain their academic and psycho-social development healthfully and under the shadows of mulberry, acacia and eucalyptus trees they can express their energy. Every student is a friend of the ducks and geese in the pond, the chicken and roosters in the coop, the dogs, the peacocks and rabbits and a helper of the stablemen and gardeners.

The stone buildings in the campus such as art studios, music studios, scout house and administrative building have historical importance. These buildings have been built by French as a radio building during the time the railways were being built in Ottoman Empire period. It was used as headquarters during the War of Indepence. After the War of Independence in the Young Republic Period it served as a primary school.
These Stone buildings have been restructured in our campus but it was adhered to their original.
